Equipment

  • Ice cube tray, or use a silicone mold
  • Medium measuring cup

Ingredients

  • ½ cup pumpkin puree, not pie filling
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt, whole milk or plain

Instructions
 Start Cooking

  • Wash hands thoroughly before starting, lathering with soap and rinsing with water.
  • Place the pumpkin puree and yogurt in a medium measuring cup. Whisk to combine the two.
You can add water at this point if you want the recipe to make more treats.
  • Portion the mixture into an ice cube tray or silicone mold. If using a mold, transfer the pumpkin-yogurt blend into a quart zip bag. Snip the corner off the bag to pipe into the mold.
Gently slide the ice cube trays or mold back and forth, tapping on the counter to remove air bubbles and smooth the top.
Place in the freezer for at least three hours.
  • When the treats are frozen solid, pop them out and let your pet sample one! For longer storage, place the treats in a zip bag or other freezer container.

Notes

These treats can leave a mess on the floor! It's a good idea to serve them in your pet's dish or on a paper plate.
In this recipe, the amounts are not that important. It's the ratio that matters. You'll need equal amounts of pumpkin and yogurt (or applesauce, mashed bananas, etc.). Use a one-to-one ratio and your treats will be great.
